Green, Ohio has limited access to addiction treatment programs, with the nearest inpatient and outpatient providers located in Akron, Cleveland, or Canton. Green residents can also travel to Van Wert for inpatient care at Ohio Recovery Center.

Substance Use Disorder Treatment Near Green, Ohio

According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), residents of Green can access a number of licensed and accredited rehab centers to the north (in and around Akron or Cleveland) and south (in and around Canton and Massillon).

Levels of care provided by these rehab programs may include:

  • medical detoxification
  • intensive outpatient treatment services (IOPs/PHPs)
  • inpatient treatment programs
  • medication-assisted treatment for alcohol use disorder or opioid use disorder
  • dual diagnosis treatment
  • aftercare support

Your particular treatment plan may involve one or more of these different services depending on your specific situation.

Medical Detoxification

Once you develop physical dependence towards alcohol or drugs, going off those substances and working through withdrawal can increase the risk of relapse.

To reduce the risk of relapse, medical detox programs offer closely monitored support to keep you safe, comfortable, and engaged with the treatment process.

Outpatient Rehab

Outpatient rehab programs vary broadly between regular outpatient counseling programs, intensive outpatient programs (IOPs), and partial hospitalization programs (PHPs).

In each case, participants commute to a treatment facility for scheduled sessions. This, in contrast with inpatient programs, allows participants to continue living at home.

Inpatient/Residential Programs

Inpatient programs offer a more structured and intensive format for recovery, as you will be required to live in a specialized addiction treatment center for the duration of your program.

Evidence-based inpatient treatment services may include group or individual counseling, family therapy, behavioral therapies, dual diagnosis treatment, peer support groups, and more.

Dual Diagnosis Treatment

It is very common for those who develop a substance use disorder to also struggle with co-occurring mental health disorders.

Unless both disorders are treated simultaneously, known as dual diagnosis care, these co-occurring disorders will often feed back into one another and make it far more difficult for long-term recovery.

Medication-Assisted Treatment

Methadone, buprenorphine, naltrexone, acamprosate, and disulfiram have all been approved by the FDA for the treatment of opioid and/or alcohol use disorder.

When dispensed in combination with counseling and other forms of professional addiction treatment, these MAT medications reduce the risk of relapse, lower the chance of overdose, and improve treatment outcomes.

Aftercare Programs

To support graduates of accredited treatment centers, many programs offer long-term support in the form of sober living housing, facilitation of peer support groups, help with job placement, and other forms of guidance and case-management.

Contact your prospective alcohol or drug rehab center to learn about their aftercare resources.
