At ORC, you will be warmly welcomed by a care team that has both personal and professional experience with addiction and mental health issues. We know what it takes to face these health challenges and are honored to be with you on your path to recovery.

Our multidisciplinary inpatient drug and alcohol rehab programs are designed with a wide variety of needs in mind so that each of our clients has all the tools and support they need to recover.

This includes 24/7 care and supervision from our medical, clinical, and psychiatric staff in a safe, structured environment.

Inpatient treatment helps clients avoid the people, places, and other triggers that make them want to use drugs or alcohol. It also provides immediate access to doctors and nurses in case of any medical emergencies. Finally, it gives people in recovery time to put into practice what they’re learning in therapy.

Our inpatient rehab program can benefit anyone facing a substance use disorder. However, it is particularly helpful for people who have moderate-to-severe addictions, people who have relapsed, and people with addiction and a co-occurring mental health condition such as an anxiety disorder, depression, bipolar disorder, or schizophrenia.

Determining And Addressing Your Specific Needs

When you enter our program at ORC, a team of medical and clinical professionals will assess your needs and create a personalized treatment plan for you. Our team will consider personal factors such as:

  • the severity of your addiction
  • your physical and mental health history
  • whether you have received treatment in the past

If you are experiencing substance use and a co-occurring mental health disorder, your treatment plan will likely include dual diagnosis treatment. This type of treatment addresses addiction that occurs alongside other mental health conditions and significantly reduces your risk of relapse.

Your treatment plan will also include the length of your stay. Our inpatient program typically lasts between 14 and 30 days, depending on each client’s individual needs.

In addition, your plan will outline which specific treatment services you will receive.

Inpatient Treatment Services At ORC

Our inpatient addiction treatment program offers the following treatment services:

Medical Detoxification

Many people who come to ORC for help are in the midst of experiencing difficult withdrawal symptoms.

These symptoms, such as anxiety, profuse sweating, and trouble sleeping, go away when substance use resumes, which is part of the reason why many people use drugs or alcohol again after experiencing withdrawal.

Our medical detox program provides 24/7 medical support and supervision to keep you safe during withdrawal, ensure your success, and make you as comfortable as possible. Care is specific to your substance use disorder and other personal needs.

Following detox, you’ll receive daily monitoring and evaluation for post-acute withdrawal syndrome (PAWS) to help ensure your continued comfort.

Behavioral Therapy

While medical detox addresses the physical side of addiction, therapy addresses the psychological side. More specifically, therapy can help you:

  • develop healthy coping skills to manage drug cravings and other uncomfortable experiences
  • treat any underlying mental health concerns, including unaddressed trauma, that made you want to use drugs in the first place
  • resolve personal conflicts related to your substance use and addiction

The types of therapy you receive in our residential treatment program are evidence-based to help you achieve long-term recovery, including:

  • cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)
  • dialectical behavior therapy (DBT)
  • motivational interviewing (MI)
  • group therapy
  • family therapy

Medication-Assisted Treatment

If you are experiencing opioid or alcohol addiction, your treatment team may talk to you about medication-assisted treatment (MAT). MAT combines FDA-approved medications and therapy to help people with these types of addictions, which can cause strong cravings and other particularly difficult withdrawal symptoms, achieve recovery.

Medications used to help treat opioid addiction include:

  • buprenorphine, which can reduce opioid cravings
  • methadone, which can reduce opioid cravings and withdrawal symptoms
  • naltrexone, which blocks the pleasant effects of opioids

Medications used to help treat alcohol use disorder (AUD) include:

  • acamprosate, which can reduce alcohol cravings
  • disulfiram, which causes unpleasant effects (including nausea, headache, and chest pain) when you drink alcohol
  • naltrexone, which blocks the pleasant effects of alcohol

Wellness Activities

Throughout your addiction recovery program at ORC, you will be provided with many opportunities to tend to your mental health, including activities that boost your sense of well-being and promote socializing with peers.

For your convenience, you will be able to find all activities available to you through the Monthly Activities Calendar, which may feature:

  • arts and crafts
  • exercise classes
  • game nights
  • movie nights

These activities can also show you that having fun and enjoying yourself doesn’t have to include drug or alcohol use.

Aftercare Planning

Before you leave ORC, you and your treatment team will work together to create your aftercare plan. This will include interventions designed to reduce your risk of relapse. Depending on your needs, these may include:

  • ongoing therapy
  • support groups
  • treatment for any co-occurring disorders
  • assistance with employment, education, or sober-living needs
  • case management

This may also include transitioning to an outpatient treatment program. Outpatient care allows you to live at home while strengthening the skills you learned during inpatient treatment.
