Opana stays in your system for about 50 hours after last use. Drug testing methods have a high potential for detecting Opana use for up to 3 days after the last dose.

How long Opana stays in your system depends on factors such as frequent drug use, body fat, and pre existing medical conditions. On average, oxymorphone stays in the body for about 50 hours after the last dose.

Opana is an immediate-release brand name prescription opioid drug that contains oxymorphone. Opana can be prescribed to treat forms of chronic pain and severe pain. Opana was previously available as Opana ER, an extended-release formulation, before this version was recalled from the legal market.

Drug screening programs can detect recent opioid use as required by your employer or a substance abuse treatment center. A positive test for oxymorphone use may result in a referral to opioid addiction services.

Drug Testing For Recent Opana Use

After Opana leaves your bloodstream, it may remain in other parts of the body for longer periods of time. Drug testing for oxymorphone can detect traces of unchanged oxymorphone or its main metabolite, noroxymorphone, in your body.

Drug testing for opioid analgesics such as Opana may be done to ensure you are following a drug rehab treatment program, or to determine your fitness for employment in Ohio. The presence of these substances in your body may be a sign of recent substance use.

How Long Does Opana Stay In Your Urine?

Urine tests can detect Opana use for about 1 to 3 days after the last dose. Urine tests can be a common form of testing for employers, law enforcement, and addiction treatment centers.

How Long Does Opana Stay In Your Saliva?

Saliva tests can detect Opana use for about 1 to 2 days after the last dose. This form of testing may be a viable alternative to urine testing for some healthcare providers.

Saliva tests can be disrupted by other objects in the mouth. You may be asked to avoid eating or drinking for a short period of time before a saliva test.

How Long Does Opana Stay In Blood?

Blood tests can detect Opana use for about 2 days after the last dose. This form of testing may be uncommon due to the invasive nature of the test.

Blood samples may be taken from hospitalized patients showing Opana withdrawal symptoms, such as muscle pain, vomiting, and insomnia.

Opioid overdose victims presenting with symptoms such as respiratory depression and decreased heart rate may also undergo a blood test under appropriate conditions.

How Long Does Opana Stay In Your Hair?

Hair tests can detect Opana use for up to 90 days after the last dose.

Hair follicle tests can have a longer detection window than other forms of testing. Oxymorphone and its metabolites can reach hair through the bloodstream and stay there for up to 90 days as the hair grows out.

Half-Life Of Opana

Half-life is the amount of time it takes for a drug to decrease to half of its peak concentration in the body. After five half-life cycles, most drugs are virtually eliminated from the bloodstream.

The half-life of oxymorphone ranges from 7 to 11 hours. Oxymorphone leaves the bloodstream after about 35 to 55 hours on average. You may feel the side effects of opiates, such as drowsiness, pain relief, and constipation during this time, especially in higher doses.

Factors that can affect how long oxymorphone stays in your central nervous system, opioid receptors, and bloodstream may include body fat, history of drug abuse, and method of use (ingestion, snorting, injecting, etc.).

A positive test result for prescription drug use, including drugs such as Opana, OxyContin, and fentanyl, may be a sign that you need professional help.
