Alcohol & Drug Rehab Options In Putnam County, Ohio

There are currently 7 drug and alcohol addiction treatment centers within a 25-mile radius of Putnam County. Most of the rehab centers are in Ottawa, Lima, and Defiance, and they often provide multiple treatment programs.

Some of the programs you might find include detox, inpatient and outpatient treatment, and medication-assisted treatment.

Medical Detox

Medical detox is generally the first step of addiction recovery.

During detox, you’re under the care of a healthcare provider who will help you manage your withdrawal symptoms with prescription medication and other supportive services. What medication is prescribed depends on the withdrawal symptoms you have.

Inpatient Treatment

Inpatient treatment involves staying at a residential treatment center where you receive 24/7 care. You may participate in behavioral therapy, support groups, group therapy, and case management. This form of addiction treatment is recommended for those with severe substance use disorders.

Outpatient Treatment

Outpatient treatment is for those with mild to moderate addiction issues and involves going to treatment during the day and staying at home each night.

There are three different forms of outpatient treatment: standard outpatient, partial hospitalization programs (PHPs), and intensive outpatient programs (IOPs). PHPs typically take about 35-40 hours per week while standard and IOPs meet less frequently.

Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT)

Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) is for those with opioid or alcohol addiction. While in MAT, medical professionals prescribe medication approved to treat these addictions, and addiction specialists will also provide behavioral therapy and other services.
