Outpatient treatment has you go to treatment sessions during the day and then go home at night. Because of that, you need a strong support system at home.

Outpatient treatment can come in three different programs: standard outpatient, intensive outpatient programs (IOPs), and partial hospitalization programs (PHPs). They offer different levels of care with PHPs offering the most intensive form of treatment.

Medication-Assisted Treatment

Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) is the approved treatment for alcohol or opioid drug addiction. With MAT, your healthcare provider prescribes medications like methadone and buprenorphine that help ease withdrawal symptoms and cravings. Therapy is also included.
